Jack tells them that the only one who can save Akiza is Yusei, so Hideo travels to Sattelite to talk with him. He tells him that when Akiza was young, he was unable to spend time with her due to work. When they finally were able to spend some free time together, a call from work interrupted, which frustrated Akiza and awoke her Signer powers and birthmark, hurting her father in the process. The relationship between the two, and Akiza’s life, fell apart after that. Yusei agrees to help her, and goes to visit her in hospital, waking her with the birthmarks. Akiza is angry that her parents were there, but then remembers what had happened to Divine, the only person she had ever trusted. Unable to reason with Yusei, she decides to duel him, summoning out her Black Rose Dragon in the process.
